When Kassidy and Jonah reached out to us to plan their destination wedding in Puerto Rico, we knew we were in for a fun journey. This sweet couple from the U.S. had a contagious energy, a love for the island, and a true appreciation for every recommendation we sharedβ€”making the entire planning process so enjoyable.
Their big day took place at Jardines del Castillo, a lush venue that combines timeless elegance with tropical charm.

The original plan was to hold the ceremony outdoors under the venue’s iconic tree, but as wedding planners, we always keep our eyes on the sky. Just 10 minutes before the ceremony was set to begin, we felt the breeze shift and knew rain was comingβ€”despite the radar showing minimal sign of it. With quick teamwork and a little wedding magic, we made the call to move everything indoors.

Thanks to the help of the incredible waitstaff (kudos to them!), we relocated the reception chairs to the ceremony area. Even the videographer jumped in to move the wine barrel we used as the officiant’s stand. A true team effort! Right in the middle of the ceremony, the skies opened upβ€”it poured. As the bride’s mom lovingly said, β€œa blessing from the skies.”

Despite the weather shift, the day was filled with heartfelt details that reflected Kassidy & Jonah’s personalities and vision. Kassidy entrusted us with the reception design, and we built the layout around a stunning serpentine floor plan they had loved.

Their guest book was a beautiful collection of local postcards, where each guest left a note before placing it in a custom card box.

The couple wanted to share a taste of Puerto Rico with their guests, so the wedding cake was filled with tropical fruit, and the dessert table was bursting with traditional local pastriesβ€”a hit with everyone! Thank you CUPKEI weddings.

After a delicious served dinner, the cigar station opened up, and the party began. The newlyweds danced the night away with their closest friends and family.

And as a perfect Puerto Rican ending, the pleneros took the floor to bring everyone together one last time.

We are so grateful to have been part of this day. From rain plans to reception magic, Kassidy & Jonah’s wedding was a true reflection of love, joy, and island spirit.
